[ Instead of Illya addressing the journal today, it's a floating, sentient stick. One that's seemingly distraught, because there's sweatdrops flying from the star part of the Kaleidostick as he speaks. ]

Greetings fair citizens and newcomers to this realm. It turns out my Master has gone off and gotten herself lost in this city. More importantly, she forgot to take this book with her, so I have no way of locating her.

So has anyone seen a teenage girl that looks like she's lost? It's been over a week now.

The first sounds more like her in all honesty. [ Fluttering about madly. ] The second one sounds like someone she shouldn't have met just yet!

Where's she living right now? You think I could come over and you can give me something of hers so I can get a scent?

I'm in her room in the Grand Library district. Haven't you seen it before?

I'll need better directions than that. I live in one of the apartments that directly faces the library thingy. How close are you to that? And which floor are you on?

Why don't I better spend my resources by flying around like I was a pigeon? If you're such a good tracker, then you shouldn't have any trouble finding a talking stick!

Man, you're a frustrating thing.

[A few seconds later, he's outside and looking around for either a stick or an albino girl.]

[ There's the stick with wings flying right up to his face. ]

You! [ Floating in air, it waggles a wing at him. ] Are you the tracking hound?

Yeah, that's me. Now hold still.
