Fifty Shades of Gunmetal

[Lucca's been especially scarce during the stinkbomb incident, content to work outdoors where the smell was... lessened. But now she has a reason to be searching the city and the rooms of the Deeps in particular.]

My books are missing! The entire library is GONE! Ohhh gosh, if I don't find them soon... If, if anyone finds any books on robotics, circuitry, solid-state engineering or magiteck, can you bring 'em over? Please!?

[She sounds a little panicked. Everyone has their mote of security, and it seems that was hers. The books are scattered EVERYWHERE, tucked in planters, up trees, in bathrooms, being held by statues, in decorative tureens in the palace district, in coiled ropes down near the docks...]

[Also of note the drier texts are sometimes paired up with some interesting companions. Things bearing titles like "Tangled Pistons of Passion", and "Lust and Superfluids: No Resistance to the Heat." Oh my.]

[It'd been a while since her call, so she looks a little baffled. She sympathetically blushes even without a clue of why he is yet.]

[Just sorta... doesn't make eye contact as he shows her the book he had been reading, her name on the last blank page under 'Property of']

I apologize for not getting this to you sooner, but I found myself drawn into the story. [Which is saying something to him because he didn't read books that often.] I'll return it post haste, but I was wondering... Do you happen to have anything related to it that I might borrow? [Just... All the shame. His face is red as a cherry.]

[She brings a hand to her mouth, blushing much brighter herself. She's seen him in the hangar. He's one of the mecha pilots! And... he's kinda cute.]

Uh.. r-right now my books are all over the place, but once I get enough of them back... [She grins sheepishly.] sure. I've got the sequel somewhere around! Oh you're going to like that one. 'S even better than the first.

Oh, uh, what's your name? You know mine already...

[A sequal to this piece of magnificence? Yes please! Setsuna TRIES to make eye contact with Lucca as he says his name-] My name is Setsuna F. Seiei. [-he immediately looks away, the shame overpowering him.] I apologize for having to meet you in this fashion.

[Lucca, when you made eye contact, you might have noticed that with all the red in Setsuna's face, his eyes, usually a shade of brown, were glowing gold. By the time he looked away, the glow's gone, it doesn't seem as if he noticed.]

[She blinks, a little puzzled when she notices the flash of gold to his eyes, but dismisses it for the moment.]

It's all right. I guess I could've introduced myself before now. I was just a little, uh... distracted.

[Setsuna nods, the shame-blush receding to a degree as he finally faces the camera properly, no eye-lightshows either.] I understand. A lot of things are currently residing in my apartment that weren't there before. My understanding is that this 'Monkey King' thought the room to be unoccupied, as I hadn't even been in here until today.

He thought it was vacant? Come on, you had ta at least slept in there!

...right?

[Doesn't really find this to be odd, so it appears explanations are in order.] My machine is supposed to be one of the best kept secrets in the world, so I don't really feel comfortable leaving it alone when in unfamiliar territory. So I tend to sleep in the cockpit.

Oh. Well, at... least I'll know where to deliver the book now when I find it!

[Ahahah... hah...]

But I don't think you're in danger if you leave it overnight. This can't be that unfamiliar to you by now, and I and the other mechanics are... we wouldn't dream of doing anything to it without your say-so!

[Well... nothing that altered it, anyway.]

[Just sorta... coughs awkwardly.] That was actually why I went to the apartment in the first place. [After giving that spear to Nier. How the Monkey King slipped that into the cockpit he didn't know, but it would mean that he'd need to give it the old once-over when all was said and done.]

I thank you for the assurance, Lucca Ashtear. I feel that you and Shion Uzuki will be able to care for my Gundam properly. In turn, do not hesitate to ask me for assistance in maintaining the other units.

We'll be sure to ask if we need clarification! Though between Shion and me I'm sure there's nothing in that unit we can't figure out!
