♕ 001 | Video;

[Now that she has figured out of how to use this thing, Minako has decided it's probably time to introduce herself so when the video feed comes on, the network gets a slightly tired, but none the less friendly, smile and a bit of a wave.]

I guess needing medical attention isn't the best way to start my stay here, but now that I feel fine again, I figured I should introduce myself. [For a person who recently received medical attention she's pretty energetic.]

Anyways, I'm Minako Arisato and I'm here to help, I guess? [Mostly because she wants her world to be safe. One supernatural threat is more than enough, thanks.

She falls quiet for a bit then, as she thinks of how to continue. Come to think of it, she did see someone introducing themselves on this thing earlier and included...

Oh, as for what I can do, um... I think Personae are kind of a difficult concept to explain, but basically I'm good for both fighting and healing if necessary... [And if you look closely, there's what looks almost like a spear leaning against the wall behind her, though that's hardly her main weapon and she's not really acknowledging it right now. Do feel free to ponder though.]

I guess that's about it? [And then she does a bit of a mock salute.]

I look forward to being of assistance to you all!

Tch. Schools these days, not teaching the oldest written legend of any language.

As for the Holy Grail War, it's at least as long of a story as your "Personae" can possibly be. I'd be happy to sit down and share my story if you want to share yours, though.

Alright, then. I'll save my own legend for a face-to-face telling, and begin with how I got to be alive again (my own story has, of course, a heartbreakingly wistful ending.)

Hundreds of years ago, some foolish mages gathered together all their power to create a vessel that could "grant any wish", the Holy Grail. To power it, they called forth seven Heroic Spirits - the spirits of departed legends like myself given life again by magic. I'm unclear on the whys or hows, but the idea was that all the "Servants" would battle it out, and the summoner of the winner would gain the right to use the Grail's infinite power for themselves.

This happened several times before I was ever summoned - otherwise there would have been a clear winner sooner - and by the time I got summoned it was apparent that there was some kind of corruption in the system that was more likely to bring about the end of the world or just plain kill people pointlessly than anyone's wish. Don't ask me why people were still fighting over it; I was just there because it sounded like a fun contest. At any rate, there was some nasty business with the so-called "strongest" Servant and the family he was serving, I saved his and his beautiful Master's ass from Servant Berserker and his Master, and they proceeded to go and blow up the Grail. Or something, I wound up here before they'd quite finished.

The point of this story is: humans should really stop bothering with power that borders on the divine. It's bad enough when the actual divinities do it, let alone people who have no clue what they're doing.

Oh, and also if you see a blue-haired man who smells like dog, ignore him, he's bad luck.

[Gilgamesh initially keeps his normal bored look, dismissing the story as the kind of convoluted magical foolishness that resulted in his own situation...but by the end of the story he's paying rapt attention. Nothing gets his attention like stabbing a goddess(?) in the face, and there was something about such a matter-of-factly delivered tale of self-sacrifice - from the lady herself, even...]

You...really? All that happened to you and you'd still just throw yourself into the role of a sacrifice?

By any reasonable standards, you're pretty insane. I suppose I can't argue with results, though.

Second chances at life are only given to the truly great, so try to hang onto this one a while longer. I'm interested in seeing what you'll do with it.

I may have to set up some kind of performance to let everyone know at once...or if not, just drop by the villa in the Palace district some time. You'll want to get comfortable before I start getting into it.
