Hello. I am Mitsunari Ishida, a warrior from Ransei - these are my pokemon, Scizor and Pawniard. I'll be preparing myself for when the enemies attack again, until then if you have anything to ask or talk to me about I will be near the Grand Library.

[He lets out a small, deflated sigh, addressing the creature on his head]

Po-kay-mon? I've never heard of any creatures that look like that or have those names.

They're native to Ransei and other lands - current estimates there are 648 different subspecies. They all have different forms, but what is common is they possess fantastic powers no normal creatures have, they are extremely intelligent and their ability to evolve into new forms. They're categorized by their elemental make up. Pawniard is one that is both dark and steel, while Scizor here is bug and steel.

Yes, people can link with Pokemon and battle - in Ransei, people don't directly, keeping battles from becoming lethal. Warriors like myself have an above-average ability to connect with Pokemon, even to being able to give commands without having to speak.

[While Mitsunari is talking, Scizor can be seen getting comfortable and starting to doze off]

They're stronger then they look, and we're always careful not to let them get injured... Scizor, get up. Can't you wait until we get to our apartment to take a nap?
