ITP: Wandering

[Action: Throughout Midgard]

[This was not what she'd expected when she had agreed to come here. If she's honest with herself she isn't sure just what she'd been expecting. The last Saber remembers clearly was being on Camlann Hill, her body in excruciating pain, and then.... it's a haze what the Valkyries had said to her even though she remembers the idea behind it and Hephaestus had been kind enough to answer her questions once she was able to. Saber supposes it might have been the blood loss making her delirious at the time, but she remembers agreeing. She had resolved to live without regrets, right?

So she wanders the city, her damaged armor had been repaired and sent ahead to her apartment while she'd been healing. Excalibur, on the other hand, was returned to her and she used invisible air to fashion a sheath at her waist so that she could carry it with her unseen now that she could no longer summon it out of the ether like before. It was always best to be prepared though she felt naked walking like this without her armor on. Light as it was, getting into it would be a hassle now. And she'd enjoyed being able to skip the chore of tying her armor on and removing it at the end of a battle, but that was a fair price to pay for being human again.

That was another she she knew she'd have to get used to, being human again. Saber had expected to die on that hill not get another chance, a proper chance, at living out her life. Everything about life before felt so distant now. Could she even call herself Saber anymore?

While these thoughts go through her mind she looks through the city to get the best feel for the terrain. If she's truly meant to fight for this place she fully intends to get to know it well. It could very well be her home for years before they managed to make even a dent in their enemies' forces.]

Had she made a mistake? Was this the same Lancer or one from another world? It's hard to tell.]

I am called Saber. Does this name seem at all familiar to you?

[Lancer responds to this in the most eloquent way that he can.]

[Saber was a man, wasn't he? And he was already here too! So where did this girl Saber with a flat figure come from?]

Look, Saber is a man! I mean, you're flat, but I can still tell that you're obviously a woman. A-and he's already here! I met him! So how can you be Saber?

[He takes a deep breath and tries to find a way to explain all this.]

Okay, what Grail War are you from?

My Master and I were participants in the Fifth Grail War. [If he's a Servant and knows the name Saber and is Lancer--sort of--then perhaps he's a different version in a previous or future Grail War?]

What of you?

...Fifth one.

[Okay, Saber he can understand for not being from the same war. But this girl? His brain is drawing a blank.]

....I'm going to assume this is a case of parallel worlds, then. [She's run into people from a few already.]

Parallel...worlds.

[Well, they already had all this other weird stuff. The Second Magic shouldn't be too out of the question.]

Well, I guess this is gonna take some getting used to.

[She gives him a polite bow due to Japanese customs getting ingrained into her over her time in Fuyuki.]

Man, I wish you had been our Saber. I swear there were no female Servants except Caster, and she was a taken woman.

[He doesn't talk about the Masters. Doing so would just bring his guilt back up.]

Oh? Both Rider and Caster were also women in ours.

...Rider was a woman too in your world? Well, he did run around everywhere in that mask and black cloak. Come to think of it, it was ridiculously easy to make him cry as well.

[It would have been fun running around in a Grail War with female versions of Rider and Saber.]

Well, Rider did wear a mask, but why would yours wear a black cloak as well?

Hell if I know. Kept anyone from getting a good look at his build. In fact...it's almost like his build shifts day to day. Like, you could swear he was taller or had longer hair yesterday.
