*A little bit of asking around and some light alteration later, there's now a primitive hoop attached to a wall surrounding a courtyard in the Deeps. Unfortunately for Terry, there weren't any real BASKETBALLS per se, but he seems to have tracked down something that's a relatively close equivalent. It doesn't have the same feel, but any port in a storm.

He tests it to make sure it's attached firmly, then nods.*

Perfect.

Hey, anybody up for a game? Or, hell, I know some of you are from different times and places, so I can always teach you if you don't know the rules.

Yeah. Guess you didn't really have something like this in your time, huh? Pretty straightforward, though.

The point? It's a SPORT. The point is to get out, have exercise, and have fun. How much more of a point does it need?

What? No, I mean what do you try to do?

[lone_wolf_of_southtown]

Oh that? That's easy. You have to get this ball into the hoop over there. If you jump up and push it in, that's 2 points, and you get three points if you shoot it like this:

*He shows off a bit by shooting without even looking. The ball kind of disappears. His smile freezes for a bit.*

I just missed that by a longshot, didn't I?

The ball vanished.

Vanished? What do you mean by --

*He turns around -- and is immediately brained by another ball that actually LOOKS like a basketball flying right at his head.*

No it's not.

*He shakes it off. He's had worse impacts to the head.*

But hey, we got a real basketball now! Can't complain... much...
