*The one good thing about being a ghost is that you are largely no longer tied to earthly possessions. As a result, she didn't really lose anything in the great Monkey Caper. She's been stumbling across peoples' lost possessions all over the place, though. Today seems to be no exception; there's a book she's just found on top of one of the buildings.*

Hmm, I wonder if this will be yet more confusing erotica.

*She opens it. And reads.

Careful observers might make out the sound of someone giggling like crazy from the top of one of the buildings. Is it worth investigating?*

[ Homura has been searching for people's belongings as well, to return them as quickly as possible. Her efforts had turned to the rooftops, carefully balancing the use of her magic and whatever stairs and climbing resources she could find. She pauses when she sees Soga no Tojiko on one such building, then silently approaches. ]

Nope. Looks like it belongs to some, uh, "Thistleweed." This is the sappiest writing I think I've ever been privy to. It's kind of pathetic.

[Small girl on the ground calling up a question.]

You didn't happen to find any um...clothes, did you?

I've seen lots of clothing since the incident. You'll have to be a bit more specific, I'm afraid.

...pfft. How many times did he have to rewrite this line? Hahahaha.

[Well, she's certainly not shouting what she's missing up the side of a building...]

[Being relatively normal, Latooni heads inside to take the stairs to the roof and arrives a few minutes later.]

Oh, are you reading something?

*If she hasn't seen her in full before, it's fairly obvious upon seeing her now that she's not really human. That is, if the fact she has wisps where feet ought to be is an indication.*

Yeah, you won't believe this. Some doof lost his poetry book. I think he was trying to woo some Titania lady or other, but his stuff's TERRIBLE.

[Analyzing...analyzing...THIS GIRL HAS NO FEET.]

Most folks haven't. I certainly did not until I became one.

Yes. It's all horribly written and mushy too. Here, listen:

"And lo, your eyes are clear as a crystal clear lake
Fulfilling a thirst of mine which can not be quenched.
They are really, really blue."

Okay, the last line got crossed out, but it is quite clearly present.

Well, the first two lines weren't...that bad, were they? I don't really know anything about poetry, but they sounded nice.

That's just it, though. He starts off romantic and sappy and then totally loses the plot about halfway through on every poem. If he wished to gift this to this, ah, Titania, it is probably better that he lost it this way.

Sounds like he might just have a short attention span. I know...a couple of guys like that.

Anyway, it's not really fair to just keep it and read it, is it? It does belong to someone else.

What do I care? I'm dead. It's not like he could kill me for it.

That doesn't make it any more or less fair, though.

What's fair in this world? Is it fair for a single city to be forced to remain the last bastion of hope for the multiverse? Is it fair for the best laid plans to go awry because of a technical detail or two? Fairness isn't innate. You have to make things fair for yourself. Otherwise, everything is -- and pardon me for putting it like this -- fair game.

[Latooni pauses for a moment, clearly considering this idea deeply.]

[She then reaches out to take the book and see if this person, as a ghost, would be able to physically hold onto it.]

*Apparently, yes.*

Hey, knock it off! Just ask for it if you want it! Geez, I don't want it that bad.

Sorry. I just thought about what you said, and it kind of made sense.

*She blinks. Then smirks.*

All right, you got me. Here, take the book. Don't think it does a lotta good unless we know where the guy is though.

***YOU HAVE OBTAINED ONE (1) EMBARRASSING BOOK OF BAD POETRY***

I'm sure I can find him. Even in a city like this, there's plenty of information to find someone.
