[Video] Nightmare's Recruitment

I suppose it's time for less complaining, and more getting other people to do stuff. So, it looks like getting a team for intelligence gathering and such's been left up to me by Thor, since I was the first to talk to him about it. I'm looking for other people good at that kind of thing. Or getting in and doing things without the enemies noticing. I suppose some might call that kind of thing "dirty work", though taking care of problem quietly's a normal thing to do with enemies. Anyway, if you're good at that sort of thing, I'm looking for you. Also, if you know anyone like that, I'd like to talk to them.

If you were there for that attack, you might've noticed some battleships crashing and enemies attacking each other for no reason. I was messing with their perceptions. And I've some experience with helping find people information and targets. I did that sort of thing a lot in that thing that my world's now calling the Dream Savior War. Those magical girls would've had a lot more trouble even finding the enemy without me. I don't really care about bragging, but I was saying all that so you know my qualifications.

The rest of you should look into organizing yourselves as well. Even just having a good idea of who's good at what sorts of thing'll help.

[ Wilhelm watches the feed, interested in the seemingly demonoid girl. The camera is set down gently near the Compass angled so that Wihelm and the Compass were both clearly visible. As if it were a prop. He's very proud of it, after all. ]

An interesting choice for gathering intelligence.

[ Especially since Wilhelm is sort of... well... omniscient. At least in the sense that he knows all possible futures, though not necessarily which is the one that will happen. ]

What's so interesting about it?

The Valkyries brought me to this world, and allowed me to bring two of the Artifacts of God with me. I had thought, at first, that the Collective Unconscious would not allow me to leave my universe, much less with the Compass of Order and Chaos, and Joshua. And yet, here we are.

I had thought that it was because neither of them can operate without me. It is interesting to me that this appears not to be the case, if they do not intend to use the Compass, and instead opt to use your talents.

If you're talking about those two who brought us here, they don't seem to know what we can do without us telling them. I had to show that Thor guy what I could do.

I see. That is useful to know.

[ Wilhelm readjusts his position in his seat, just as the phonograph began playing a new record of another Richard Wagner piece, while Wilhelm poured himself another glass of wine. ]

What can you tell me about Thor?

He seemed like a loud guy. The sort good at making speeches, but not the best at making plans. But smart enough to recognize that plans're needed. When I asked him about strategy meetings and such, he asked me if I was volunteering to gather information. He likes people who take initiative.

But tell me about what you have there, if you think it'd be very good for this.

Then he is not an active leader. Interesting.

[ Wilhelm can use that to his advantage. ]

This is the Compass of Order and Chaos. It allows me to monitor the movements of the Collective Unconscious, which is present even in this world.

[ He is curious to know if she understands what that means, which is why he waits to hear her reaction. ]

Oh, that'd be useful. I can't observe the Collective Unconscious on that large of a scale.

[She definitely had a understanding of the term "Collective Unconsciousness", at least, though it might not be the same understanding.]

Few can.

The Compass allows me to predict all possible futures.

All possible futures? You can do that by observing the Collective Unconsciousness?

Yes. Humans are nothing if not predictable. The actions they take, the thoughts that enter their minds, their behaviors, and the mind of the universe itself. I am able to observe all of it.

I suppose that's true.

[Privately, she felt a temptation to immediately change herself just to throw off any attempts to determine her own fate. She knew with her degree of self-knowledge, she could predict her own actions. But she discarded that thought. Now wasn't the time to go throwing in unpredictable elements. Who knows what the new her would be like.]

Of course it is. It is because of their predictability and their obstinence that I believe that I am able to save them.

I suppose if you know what someone'll do, it's easier to help them.

'Help' isn't the word that I would use. I would prefer the word 'guide.' Humanity is incapable of seeing into the longterm. Their own foresight ends with their deaths. Rather than prepare for the longterm, they insist on propping up their own lifespan, believing that their universe ends with their own lives. They are intoxicated by that narcissism.

That's just the way Dreamers're.

And thus, my existence is necessary.

That's a ridiculously large task. Well, if you want to take it on, I suppose.

It is the reason for my creation. I exist to oppose Anima, and ensure the preservation of the Lower Domain of the Universe.

So, you've got to deal with moronic threats to everything, too?

They are beneath me. Unless something poses an immediate threat to the existence of the Lower Domain or the Collective Unconscious, it is of no concern to me.

[ In all fairness, though, Wilhelm did have a lot to do with destroying Gnosis on an almost genocidal scale through the creation of KOS-MOS, the Hilbert Effect, A.G.W.S., T-elos, and the Rhine Maiden; but those are a threat to the Collective Unconscious, as their existence is what's making the Anima time bomb tick. ]

Oh, yes, stuff like that's an interruption to more interesting stuff.

That is one way to look at it. I see it all as inconsequential. I am capable of considering only the 'big picture,' to use modern vernacular.

If you look only at that, you'll miss some of the more interesting details.
