What the hell

So this place is way scarier than I thought it would be. I just came here because...well, nevermind that. Point is, suddenly I'm surrounded by gods and wizards and monsters.

This magic book they gave me is kinda neat, though. I guess if I talk to it, everyone else with a book like it can hear me. Anyone else feeling like they got more than they bargained for?

Is it really that bad? I feel a bit underwhelmed myself, but you must have your own strengths if you brought in to fight alongside gods.

I'm not bad. I can handle the small fry, at least, but keep me away from the gods.

You're not feeling up to the challenge of taking on a god just yet? Give it a few more weeks and I'm sure someone here will chat you into it.

"Chat you into it"? Chat me into fighting a god? Are you stupid or something? They're gods. I'm just some guy with a sword!

Nope. Don't you find it a bit rude to call a girl stupid when you've just met her? [ Seriously. Where are the manners? ] If someone relies on you to save them against a god, what will you do? Will you stand by while someone dies or will you try to rescue them?

I've met gods before. Relying on me to stop one would be like relying on a paper fan to stop a flood. If someone relied on me to stop a god, they'd be stupid, and they'd get exactly what was coming to them.

There's a lot of circumstances that you're not counting either, you know. Really, those gods aren't going to let us go up against a god without something to even the field, right?

I was hoping there'd be a few non-gods around that I could deal with. I might not be up to a god's level, but I'm not helpless.
