A few days have passed since the Qin army marched on Midgard's walls. The warriors already there don't know how much longer the front gate can last. The Qin forces are slowly picking off the wall's defenders, whittling down their numbers.

A metallic dragon twists and writhes in the sky, raining destruction from above. Sanzuwu streak back and forth across the sky, strafing and intercepting any aerial units. Shishi slam into the gates repeatedly, while terracotta soldiers make use of siege engines to break down the gate.

And finally, the inevitable occurs; the gate crashes open. Qin soldiers start flooding in.

But at that very moment...the Bifrost activates.

The first wave has come.

[[OoC: Welcome to the game! You'll be starting off fending off a Qin invasion. You are free to godmode enemies within reason, though the mods may occasionally take over from time to time. Defeat enough enemies, and a boss may appear...

Enemy types can be found with descriptions in the cut below.

Dragons - Strange, otherworldly energy beings that serve the Qin. They are given physical, robotic bodies in the form of classic Chinese dragons so that they can interact with physical world. Enormously powerful. Ascend to their home plane if their bodies are destroyed. There are only nine Dragons at any one time, but if ever one is defeated, its body can be rebuilt.

Fenghuang - Flying Qin battleships. Huge. Phoenix themed decoration. Lots of heavy weapons.

Sanzuwu - Qin fightercraft. Fast, lightly armed. Three distinctive landing gear that look like bird legs.

Yaoguai - Soldiers subject to modification experiments that didn't work properly. The Yaoguai are capable in combat, but their upgrades have left them mentally unstable and very violent.

Shishi - Robot lion statues. Powerful frontline warriors.

Terracotta Soldiers - Clay statues of soldiers that have been animated. The rank and file.

Meanwhile, Asem continues to keep the dragon busy. The armor is too strong for the beam vulcans to have much effect, and the dragon was too difficult to hit with the Hyper DODS Rifle.

Asem transforms the AGE-2 from Strider mode to mobile suit mode, then uses the verniers to maintain its altitude. He shifts the rifle to the Gundam's left hand, then draws a beam saber with its right. The thrusters fire, and the Gundam takes a slice at the dragon's face.

It misses.

But that doesn't necessarily seem to be a problem, because the Gundam immediately turns and opens fire with the rifle. The dragon tries to evade, but ends up losing the last third of its body from the shot.

The power of human ingenuity! She can only wonder what Prince Shoutoku would make of these incredible devices. It still bothers her on some level that the Valkyries would be foolish enough to choose a lowly servant rather than the great leader of ages past, but never mind. Her Prince need not worry about these trifling matters.

She decorporealizes for a bit, moving deep into a formation of Sanzawu, before reforming and sending out might bolts every which way from her body. The machines burst into flame around her, and she once again becomes a faint ghost, darting and grazing through the wreckage. Machines might be amazing, but there is satisfaction to be had in knowing she is even more so.

Wow, that was some crazy stuff. Asem was too in the zone to pay it much mind, though. He tosses the rifle up in the air, draws the other beam saber, and charges the dragon. One slash led to a 360-degree rotation, with a follow-up slash, and the dragon was neatly quartered. A quick deactivation of the left-hand saber later, the rifle landed in the Gundam's hand.

"Good show, human! Your power in that device is most magnificent!" the ghost shouts. Hey, she may have issues with humans, but give credit where credit's due man. Besides, at least it's not a laser to HER face. She nods to it, then shoots down below, peppering the ground combatants with her attacks.

Did the Gundam falter just before it transformed back into Strider mode? Perhaps. Either way, Asem barks a quick, sheepish "thanks" and begins to shoot at the incoming wing of fighters.
